Welcome to the University of Edinburgh Apiary Project
The mission of the Apiary Project is to aid in the conservation and propagation of the Honey Bee; to encourage research into bees and bee products, and to foster a greater knowledge and understanding of bees and beekeeping.
We offer bee and bee related support services to the University of Edinburgh from our headquarters at King's Buildings. We also have a role in education, both of staff and students within the University, and further afield, in conjunction with local Beekeeping Associations and other Educational Organisations.
We are now running a 3-day intensive beginners' beekeeping course at the start of July for staff and students of the University. More information is available on our Beginners' Class page.
Information on the project can be found at the History pages. A list of the kind of activities we carry out, and the groups we work and liaise with can be found on the Activities page.
Information on bees and beekeeping, including dealing with Swarms, can be found on the Bees and Swarms pages.
